Ladoga-Mrs. Bertha Rogers Poynter, 84, died suddenly in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville at 3 a.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Poynter was born near Roachdale on Feb. 24, 1886 to Thomas Henry and Amanda Steele Rogers. In April, 1951 she married Robert Poynter in Mooresville. Mrs. Poynter had lived in the Roachdale area until she was married, when they moved to Ladoga. Survivors include two brothers, Dan Rogers of Decata, Ga., and Lural Rogers of Ladoga; one sister, Mrs. Iva Kaufman of Mooresville, one step-son, Don Poynter of Crawfordsville; five step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Perkins Funeral Home at Roachdale with Rev. Herbert Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Ladoga Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Thursday.
